Brief project description:

The cooperating nature, environmental, leisure, sport and tourism associations continue to work on the implementation of the national strategy on biological diversity (2007) in the field of tourism and nature leisure activities. The project has the following objectives:

• mainstreaming knowledge about the impact of tourism on biological diversity
• promoting the benefits of sustainable tourism in sensitive areas
• enhancing the development of environmentally friendly tourism products

Workshops and dialogue boards at national level will facilitate the development of joint strategies and action programmes. They will focus on tourism development in rural areas, cooperation with nature conservation agencies, nature tourism, sports and leisure tourism, eco-friendly mobility and climate change.

The project is being implemented in cooperation with the Working Group on Tourism and Biodiversity (see members).
